Is Kevin Durant unhappy in Phoenix?
Once again, Kevin Durant has unfortunately been at the center of one of the disappointing teams in the NBA. The Phoenix Suns were eliminated in the first round and have not won a single playoff game.
The roster is faulty and misstructured. They need an athletic big man and a true floor leader, but they don’t have the assets or financial flexibility to acquire them in the offseason.
Moreover, it looks like their best players aren’t happy either. ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith said Durant wasn’t talking to his teammates.
The conversations are as follows: “This is a problem,” Smith said. “We can’t see that because the stats are there. He and (Devin) Booker are averaging 27 points a game, but they say Kevin Durant is never happy. They say he went for over a month without speaking to the head coach (Frank Vogel). They say he didn’t look happy there. All he wants is , playing when the game starts and when it’s news time, but when it comes to endearing himself to his teammates, getting along with everyone, and things like that, he just lives in his own world.
The controversial expert also stated that Durant did not intentionally cause damage to the locker room. However, his lack of vocal leadership and unwillingness to gel with his teammates cannot be ignored:
“And you get bored of it because when you don’t want to talk and you don’t want to answer questions, you don’t want to lead in a very obvious way, which forces other people to step up and take action. “It’s at a level of guilt that they don’t want to admit,” Smith added.
