Josh Rock Defeats Clayton to Win First European Tour Title
Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock won his first European Tour victory by beating Jonny Clayton 8-4 in the Dutch Darts Championship final.
Rock, 23, prevailed in the final in Rosmalen after a 4-4 draw with Welsh opponent Clayton.
After beating strong opponents such as Dirk van Duijvenbode, Cameron Menzies and Gerwyn Price throughout the tournament, Rock defeated Martin Schindler 7-3 in the semi-finals. Clayton, on the other hand, reached the final after defeating champion Dave Chisnall, Ryan Searle and home favorite Michael van Gerwen. Clayton’s 7-6 win over Van Gerwen was remarkable.
The victory is Broughshane bowler Rock’s second PDC rankings title after winning the Players Championship two years ago. Additionally, this victory saw Rock rise from 20th to 18th on the PDC Order of Merit.
