FERENCVÁROS’ NEW SIGNING: STEFAN GARTENMANN
Ferencváros, one of Hungary’s most storied football clubs, continues to strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window. The green-and-whites have secured the signing of defender Stefan Gartenmann from Denmark’s FC Midtjylland, marking their fifth acquisition of the summer.
Gartenmann began his football journey in his hometown of Roskilde before moving to the Netherlands in 2013 to join Heerenveen. However, after failing to break into the first team in the Netherlands, he returned to Denmark four years later, where he made 174 appearances over five years for Sønderjyske and won the Danish Cup in 2020. In 2022, he joined FC Midtjylland, and for the 2023-2024 season, he spent time on loan with Scotland’s Aberdeen.
Standing at 187 centimeters, the versatile defender can play both in the center and on the right side of the defense. Ferencváros Sporting Director Hajnal Tamás commented on the signing, saying, “We’ve been monitoring Stefan for a long time, and now we felt it was the right moment to bring him into our squad. He is a reliable, professional player who will add significant value to our team. We believe his arrival will increase competition in our defense.”
With this signing, Ferencváros aims to take another step toward achieving their goals. Stefan Gartenmann is expected to quickly adapt to the rigors of Hungarian football and contribute significantly to the success of the green-and-whites.
