American Tennis Players Shine with Victories at Winston-Salem and US Open

American tennis players showcased their dominance at both the Winston-Salem ATP-250 tournament and the US Open qualifiers, securing impressive victories against their opponents.

At the Winston-Salem tournament, young American Learner Tien triumphed over Hungary’s 9th-seeded Fábián Marozsán in a hard-fought match. Despite Marozsán delivering more aces and winners, Tien capitalized on crucial errors by his opponent. After nearly two hours of intense play, Tien emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-2), advancing to the next round.

Another standout performer was Alex Michelsen, ranked 52nd in the world, who faced Hungarian Márton Fucsovics in a high-paced encounter. Michelsen kept his composure throughout the match, winning the first set in a tiebreak and breaking Fucsovics’ serve in the second set. He secured a 6-7 (7-3), 6-4 victory, continuing his successful run in the tournament.

In the US Open qualifiers, American-French player Maxime Cressy delivered a strong performance against Zsombor Piros. After winning the first set and losing the second, Cressy regained control in the final set, clinching the match with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

With these victories, American players Tien, Michelsen, and Cressy have established themselves as strong contenders in their respective tournaments, continuing their pursuit of success.
