Australian young sprinter Gout Gout made a remarkable achievement by running the 200 meters in 19.98 seconds at a race in Brisbane. With this time, the 17-year-old athlete recorded the fastest time of the year and climbed to the top of the world rankings. However, due to a tailwind of 3.6 meters per second during the race, his record was not officially recognized.

Gout’s performance is being compared to Usain Bolt’s times in his youth. At 16, Gout surpassed Bolt’s 20.13-second record, and now at 17, he has come very close to Bolt’s 19.93-second mark. Given his recent progress, he has a strong chance of breaking Bolt’s 18-year-old record by the end of 2025.
Even though his record is not official, Gout’s performance has made a significant impact. The young sprinter continues to refine his speed and technique, signaling that he could set new records in the coming months.
