Albania and Serbia Prepare Joint Bid for Euro 2027 Football Tournament

The Albanian Football Federation announced that it is planning a joint bid with Serbia for the 2027 European Youth Football Tournament.

FSHF announced that they are working with Serbia to organize the Euro 2027 Under-21 Football Championship and that this joint initiative is the first of its kind in the Balkans.

Albania conveyed its goal of hosting the U21 European Championship to UEFA, but since it was stated that the necessary stadium conditions were not met, the final stage will be hosted in cooperation with Serbia.

The Serbian Football Federation confirmed the idea of holding the final match of the European Championship in Belgrade and stated that the details will be negotiated. Currently, it is stated that Türkiye and Belgium are also planning to host the 2027 tournament.

This proposal came after a match between Albania and Serbia was interrupted by a drone ten years ago. With the decision made by UEFA, the match was recorded as 3:0 in favor of Albania, which gave Albania their first victory and ensured their participation in the European championship in 2016.
