Bows Drawn, Hearts Ready: Uzbekistan Makes Olympic History!

Paris-2024: Uzbek Archery Team Ready for the Olympics

For the first time in Uzbekistan’s history, the national archery team has qualified to participate in the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.

Amirkhan Sodikov and Ziyadakhon Abdusattorova are organizing their final training camp ahead of the most prestigious competition, held every four years. Before the start of the official competition, we share Amirkhan Sadikov’s thoughts:

Question: Before the qualification competition, did you believe you would secure a ticket to Paris-2024?
Answer: Actually, I did believe it. Therefore, we had to adequately respond to the excellent conditions our country created for us. We trained with our coaches for a long time, and I worked on myself. Also, winning a bronze medal with Ziyadakhon Abdusattorova at the World Cup held in the Republic of Korea before the qualification tournament gave me even more strength.

Question: What do you expect from the upcoming Olympics?
Answer: Since we will be participating in the Olympics for the first time, there is a bit of excitement. We are proud to defend the honor of Uzbekistan alongside the strongest athletes in our country in other sports as well. I set an example for adults. If we are lucky, we will also participate and return to our country with a bright face.
