Derek Agyakwa: “We Still Have 90 Minutes to Fight in Turkey”

Başakşehir faced Georgian side Iberia in the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round, securing a 1-0 victory. After the match, Iberia’s defender Derek Agyakwa gave an exclusive statement to Sports Declaration.

In his statement, Agyakwa said, “First of all, I want to give my God Jesus all the glory. The match was a tough one against a good opponent, but I think we played okay. We had some chances, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to convert them into goals.”

He also highlighted the support of the fans, saying, “The fans were great; they helped us believe that we could get a good result in this game, but unfortunately, we couldn’t make that happen.”

Looking ahead to the second leg in Istanbul, Agyakwa added, “But we are still in the game. We have another 90 minutes to play in Turkey, and we will give our very best for sure.”
