Car Center continues to make a strong impact at this year’s EKO Acropolis Rally, with Nontas Karanikolas and Giorgos Kakavas aiming for another success behind the wheel of their Ford Fiesta Rally3.
Reviewing their past performances at the Acropolis Rally reveals that the Car Center team has consistently excelled in managing the challenging demands of the event. Regardless of the vehicle they drive, Nontas and Giorgos have found a rhythm that translates into impressive results.
For this year’s 68th Acropolis Rally, the team will be competing with a brand-new, factory-prepared Ford Fiesta Rally3, supported by M-Sport. This combination is expected to give them a strong chance of securing a top position in their category. Nontas is clear about their approach to the race:
“This race will be an excellent opportunity to once again test our capabilities against tough competition, especially in the Rally3 category, where Junior WRC teams will also be participating. The fact that new drivers join our category each year on an international level presents a prime opportunity for us to compete on equal terms,” said Nontas.
In preparation for the Acropolis Rally, the Car Center team recently completed a successful pre-event test with a Ford Fiesta Rally3, navigating a route in the Gerania Mountains that mirrored the rugged conditions of the Acropolis. It’s worth noting that in the previous two Acropolis Rallies, Nontas Karanikolas and Giorgos Kakavas secured first place among Greek competitors in the Rally3 category. They finished fifth overall in 2022 and sixth overall in 2023, once again ranking first among Greek competitors in Rally3, and third in the unofficial “Greek overall standings.” However, they had to retire on the final day of the rally due to a steering issue during the Tarzan stage.
