Gabriela Petrova Secures Spot in Euro 2025 Triple Jump Final

Gabriela Petrova Advances to the Euro 2025 Triple Jump Final

On the first day of the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, Bulgarian athlete Gabriela Petrova secured her place in the women’s triple jump final. In the men’s high jump, however, Tihomir Ivanov failed to qualify and was eliminated in the preliminaries.

Petrova recorded a season-best performance of 13.90 meters on her first attempt. However, this was 10 centimeters short of the 14.00-meter automatic qualification mark. Only three athletes managed to surpass this mark, with Spain’s Ana Pelleteiro-Compaoré achieving the best result of 14.14 meters in her second attempt.

After committing a foul on her second jump, Petrova decided to skip her third attempt, as her initial mark was sufficient to secure a spot in the final. A silver medalist in the 2015 European Indoor Championships in Prague, the experienced athlete finished sixth in the qualifiers and will compete in the final on Friday.
