German Victory in the Second Biathlon League: David Zobel Claims His First Win of the Season

German biathlete David Zobel secured his first victory of the season in the IBU Cup. The 28-year-old athlete emerged victorious in the sprint race in Ridnaun, leaving his competitors behind.

Zobel delivered an outstanding performance both at the shooting range and on the cross-country ski track. He completed the 10-kilometer course flawlessly in 23:43 minutes, securing first place. Norwegian Sivert Bakken, who made two shooting errors, finished about three seconds behind, taking second place. American Paul Schommer, after making one mistake, ended up five seconds behind in third place.

This win marks Zobel’s first race victory of the winter. Having started the season in the World Cup, the German athlete was also part of the German relay team that finished fourth in Kontiolahti. Now, with this success in the second league, he has drawn significant attention.
