KAE ARIS Midea Signs Josh Roberts for the 2024-25 Season

KAE ARIS Midea has announced the signing of 2.05m tall forward and center Josh Roberts for the 2024-25 season. Born on July 15, 1999, Roberts is known for his strong defensive presence and rebounding skills.

Roberts began his college career in 2018 at St. John’s University, where he averaged 5.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in his second season, playing 20 minutes per game. In 2021, he transferred to Manhattan College, where he posted averages of 8.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

His most productive season came in 2022-23, where Roberts averaged 12.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. His defensive prowess earned him a spot on the region’s All-Defensive Team, and he also set a Manhattan College record with 90 blocks.

Roberts embarked on his professional career last season, playing in both Australia and New Zealand. He initially played for the Cairns Taipans, averaging 4.3 points and 3 rebounds per game, before moving to the Hawke’s Bay Hawks, where he put up an impressive 13 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. Roberts was named the best rebounder of the season in the New Zealand National Basketball League, setting a record with 28 rebounds in a single game.

With the addition of Roberts, KAE ARIS Midea aims to strengthen its defense and enter the upcoming season with increased ambition.
