MTK Budapest Extends Patrik Kovács’s Contract

NB I side MTK Budapest has announced on its official website that it has extended the contract of 20-year-old defender Patrik Kovács until 2028.

Kovács, a left-back who has been recognized as the most featured outfield player among NB I footballers adhering to MLSZ recommendations in 2025, has played every minute since joining the senior squad. According to the club’s statement, the young player scored his first goal against DVTK.

Kovács began his football journey in the FTC academy before transferring to MTK at the U17 level. He later joined the Salzburg Academy and returned to MTK in the summer of 2023. That same year, at the age of 18, he made his debut for the Hungarian senior national team.
