Arifa Latifova, a reporter and TV presenter for Azerbaijan’s CBC Sport, made an exclusive statement to Sports Declaration regarding the Azerbaijan national team.
Most of those who spoke at the national level grew up in this period. Our team, which has been playing in the qualifying stages for only 5 years, is able to show itself very well and get results. It was these successes and the difficult path they went through that made the fans believe and value them. I hope they will survive the upcoming test. Our team has players who compete in championships of a sufficient level. Nigar Mirzaliyeva plays for Russia’s Zenit, Manya Esra plays for Turkey’s Besiktas, and Kristina Bakaradze and Nazlijan Parlak play for Galatasaray. Each of these players, who are the champions of Turkey and have experience playing in the Champions League, who won the title in Russia, can take the lead when needed. The play-off matches will be held in October, and at that time the championship will continue. Therefore, the players will come to the camp of the national team in better shape. In addition, I have no doubt that the determination, will and character of our girls will help them. We hope that our players will write another history in Azerbaijani women’s football.

Pley-off matçları oktyabrda keçiriləcək və həmin vaxt çempionatlarda mübarizə davam etmiş olacaq. Buna görə də futbolçular millinin düşərgəsinə daha yaxşı formada gələcəklər. Bundan əlavə, bizim qızlarda olan əzm, iradə və xarakterin də onlara kömək edəcəyinə şübhə etmirəm. Ümidvarıq ki, futbolçularımız Azərbaycan qadın futbolunda daha bir tarix yazacaqlar.
