Iranian-born Olympic taekwondo star Kimia Alizadeh brought the European championship to Bulgaria in her first competition under the Bulgarian flag.
The recently naturalized Iranian won the gold medal in the 62 kilo category at the Old Continent Championships held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
In the final, the bronze medalist at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, who will represent Bulgaria at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, won with a score of 2:1 against the girls’ world champion, who won three bronze medals at the world championships: Great Britain. ‘s Aaliyah Powell.
