Kiril Milov Reaches the Top in Bratislava!
Our national wrestler Kiril Milov claimed his second European Championship title in Greco-Roman style, triumphing in Bratislava. The 28-year-old athlete achieved a major milestone by dominating the 97 kg category and leaving all his European rivals behind.
Milov’s most striking victory came in the semifinals against Armenian legend Artur Aleksanyan. The 33-year-old Olympic champion, 4-time world champion, and 7-time European champion was defeated 2-1 by Milov, who once again proved his strength on the mat. Aleksanyan currently holds the second spot in the world rankings with 45,000 points.

In the final, Milov defeated Lucas Lazogiannis — representing Germany and ranked third with 34,300 points — with an impressive 7-1 win. In the quarterfinals, Milov also eliminated Hungary’s Alex Soke, ranked fourth in the world with 31,900 points.
Milov is currently ranked eighth in the world with 28,000 points, trailing the leader, Iranian wrestler Saravi, who holds the top position with 53,000 points.
A Flawless Season from Kiro

The “Bulgarian Lion” is enjoying a phenomenal season. He competed in two UWW tournaments and won gold medals in both. First, he became the ranking champion in Tirana, then captured the European title in Bratislava. Milov has won all 9 matches he has wrestled this season, scoring a total of 46 points while conceding only 8. An outstanding performance!
